Kumadoe Criticises Sege NDC Executives Over Poor Election Venue.

Security expert Richard Kumadoe has strongly criticized the Sege constituency executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for selecting an inappropriate and hazardous venue for their internal party elections. He stated that the mere deployment of police officers was not enough to guarantee the overall suitability, safety, and accessibility of the chosen site.

The security analyst indicated that the election grounds completely lacked fundamental infrastructure, including basic public washrooms and toilet facilities. This deficit posed serious health and sanitation risks to the hundreds of party delegates, organizers, and observers who gathered for the political event.

Furthermore, Kumadoe raised alarms over the total absence of standby emergency medical services, noting that no ambulance was stationed at the venue to handle potential crises. He also condemned the deplorable state of the feeder roads leading to the location, particularly the hazardous routes connecting the venue to Anyaman and Wokumagbe.

According to Kumadoe, these combined logistical shortcomings created unnecessary hardships and dangers for everyone in attendance. He emphasized that the risks were significantly amplified if a medical emergency occurred or if the voting process delayed late into the night, leaving participants stranded in a vulnerable area.

To prevent future public safety hazards, the security expert argued that political parties must actively consult law enforcement agencies when selecting election grounds. He suggested that more central and developed communities within the constituency, such as Sege, Koluedor, and Hwakpo, would have served as far superior alternative venues.

Kumadoe explained that these recommended alternative locations possess superior infrastructure, reliable transport networks, and functional street lighting to enhance nighttime security. Choosing these hubs would have made it significantly easier and safer for delegates to commute back to their respective destinations after the proceedings closed.

Despite his sharp criticism of the leadership's planning, Kumadoe commended the state security personnel and delegates for ensuring a peaceful exercise. He expressed his profound gratitude to the officers of the Ghana Police Service, BNI, Fire Service, CID, and Immigration Service for their dedication, while urging the newly elected executives to prioritize comprehensive risk assessments for future events.
