AG Recommends Prosecution as CCTV and Cyber Evidence Link NDC’s Ashie Moore to Alleged Theft of Singaporean Investor’s Luggage.

The Office of the Attorney-General has recommended prosecuting Greater Accra NDC Chairman Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore for stealing under Section 124 of the Criminal Offences Act. The review concluded there is sufficient evidence for formal legal action against the former MP.
Senior State Attorney Nana Ama Prempeh forwarded the directive to the CID, instructing police to obtain a charge statement from the politician. Other suspects remain at large.
The case stems from an investment dispute involving Singaporean businessman Toh You Kang over alleged ECG contracts. Toh partnered with Moore in NSG Innovations Ltd after Moore promised lucrative energy supply connections.
The business partnership soured after substantial funds were allegedly paid out for performance fees without securing the promised deals. The specific stealing charge relates to an incident at the Fiesta Residences hotel, where Moore allegedly removed Toh's personal luggage and sensitive documents.
State attorneys confirmed the recommendation is supported by hotel CCTV footage, witness statements, and cybercrime reports. Moore has denied wrongdoing.
The development creates political friction and is being closely monitored by legal observers and the public regarding equal treatment under the law. Further updates can be monitored via the Ghana Police Service Criminal Investigation Portal as this high-profile case proceeds.
